Your brain has never set foot outside of your head!
It’s supposed to make all of your life-and-death decisions, and yet it has never experienced the real world!
It relies 100% on the information it receives from those organs that supply it information, and we know how fallible they can be!
If it receives contradictory information – say, it’s a nice day and it’s a horrible day – then it can’t just go out and see for itself. It has to analyze the input, weigh up what story is more predominant, most repeated, most consistent across the senses, and so on. Based on that, it then has to figure out a conclusion by digging into past experiences, making comparisons and even predictions!
How can we expect it to come to a fair decision if we feed it nothing but rubbish?
If all your brain ever hears from you is that you are stupid, weak or useless, what sort of decisions do you think it will make about trying new things, seeking out happiness or making positive changes?
Do you think it will be able to make better choices if it hears from you that you are able to make winning decisions and that you are capable and ready for any challenge? What if it could see positive images, places you want to be, and words of encouragement and inspiration?
Your brain can only work with what it receives from your senses. It therefore makes sense to guard your senses.
That’s not Rocket Science!
