How best to memorise the Times Tables
Open the appropriate table.
There are two buttons. The blue button on the left opens the full table.
The green button on the right opens the table without showing the product (answer).
If you click anywhere on the full table, a recording will play. To stop the playing, click again. Click again to start from the beginning.
READ and SAY ALOUD the table in time with the recording. Do this until you feel you can do this on your own. For best results, don’t CHEAT. Say it ALOUD. If you stumble, START AGAIN.
Hover over the green button and recite the table from the beginning, saying the answers. As soon as you stumble over one of the answers, stop. Hover over the blue button again to see the answer and say that one (example, “Two sevens are fourteen”) over and over until you are sure you remember it.
Hover over the green button again and start from the beginning until you stumble again.
If you get through all of the table without a stumble, preferably a few times, leave it. Over the next while (hours… days…) say it to yourself for practice. When you feel you have truly MASTERED it, move on to the next table.
